Well, I am not a lier. She was not beautiful in her current state. She was coated with the dust listed off of dry roots and charcoal pasted her feet black and caused funny lines on her legs from where pointed sticks had brushed. Her ribs had begun to show and there was a gauntness in her eyes that was turned inward due to thirst. Even from here, I could smell the smoke on her. It was the smoke that led my to her, because for one heart stopping second, I thought the fires had hit my lands. She nickered before calling, but I was already on my way. Lose stones slipped as I traveled along a bank toward her. I lowered my head and plunged down the two steps of steep bank before I was on the level facing toward her. I glanced at her for another second before lifting my head and turning it 90 degrees toward the nearest creek. "Drink first. It'll make the talking easier." My voice was abrupt and no nonsense and definitely lacking in charm. I had no need to charm her. She was here now and technically mine, but in these times that rule did not apply. No, the offer, or law, here now was that you stayed until the outside lands were livable again and then you would go off free, probably never to look back. Personally, I didn't mind it. There was a larger then I liked number of horses here. Entire herds of subherders that I would normally refuse to provide land. Anyway, enough of business. I lead the mare to water and waited for her to drink. I talked distractedly giving the same speech over again. "Drink slowly or you'll end up colicing. No use dying of thirst to only die from water overload. It's cold too to make matters worse. It comes from the glaciers. "Water isn't rationed here, but food is. Eat enough to keep up your strength, but don't waste it." I glanced at her and realized it was not all ash on her, but she was an Appaloosa. Well, at least we have variety. "By the way, my name is River Rapid.

The gold mares hooves scratched the ground. She unfolded her wings and took to the skies. Circling the lands she saw other horses mulling around they looked bored she thought. She soon landed back infront of the stallion and looked at him waiting for a reply.

Re: To Save My Herd -Dark Freedom « Result #4 Today at 10:33am »
I sighed and excepted the inevidable. I had refused to house a stallion who had tried to claim my lands and I deep down felt really bad about it, but I did not outwardly waver. These disasters would pass and someday my protection of the lands, but I prefered them not to be linked together. If I let spitful stallions on my land in their need, they may be grateful for it or they may study the land and find my weaknesses. I did not ask for much but for my land and herd to be safe, but I was willing to pay any price for it. However, this stallion had no quarrel with me and no innoncent mare would suffer at my hands. If this meant someday I had to fight and kill or be killed by this stallion, so be it. However, he did not seem to be a turncoat. "The mares can come freely on their own and I will not touch them, but I cannot trust you freely. My price is for an alliance with you as long as you or your mares are on my land. You must help me protect my land and herd and in return I will help protect and provide for yours. "Though," I remarked ironicly, "You must ration your grass, the water I'm not afraid as the glaciers melt with heat, but overgrazing a land damages it longer than any lack of water." I turned my head at a sound and broke into a smile for a split second. Aunt Athena! I'd recognize her voice anywhere. I waited for his reply before I'd go to her.
Iamar Azima I was on my way, but my time had come and I swang north to the greeness of Gerana Glade. (I'm going to have to wait until the foal's accepted.)

~Sugar Kisses~
The chestnut appaloosa fae had been wandering alone for over a day now. She was exhausted - she had not had the time to stop and graze thanks to the floods, fires, drought, and the dreaded humans that was undoing the tranquility of the homeland at a rapidly increasing rate. And there is hardly enough good grazing left anyway, she thought to herself with a soft snort of bitterness. But it could not be helped.
Sugar had lived in Ellesmera, Shadow Demon's territory, for several days, but at last she had decided to leave... for the sake of the herd. Shadow Demon already had enough mares to worry about. And she had not really had much of a place there. She just sort of faded into the background, basically ignored by everyone, except Shadow Demon. And Sugar was a mare who did not like to be ignored. Sure, it was not Shadow's fault that the drought had affected Ellesmera badly, but Sugar was a fae who needed her freedom. But now that she thought about it, she was alone, in a strange place... and there were humans about. Before she left, Shadow had warned her of the potential dangers. But she was here now, and was not willing to turn back now.
She sensed that there were other horses about. Perhaps this is someone's land, she thought to herself, and lifted her crania, a nicker of hope bursting from her maw.
"Hello?" she called, perhaps a trifle softly, but with lack of water and food, her voice was not as strong as usual. "Is anybody there?"

Large mare frowned at Ocean. "Ocean. I'm sorry for the trouble. It's just.... I'm scared. We all are. But I think I'm the one who is most afraid. You see, I have a newborn colt. He's only a few hours old." she said. She whinnied and Ace galloped up.
Frozen turned to Shadow. "And you." she said. "You know everyone will vote for themself. And you know I will challenge for my title." she said. "Do you honestly want that on you're shoulders? If I get hurt, I can't care for Ace. And he'll die." she said.

Twilight Zone spooked slightly as the stag came up to her. She streched her wings wide readying her self to fly. Then seeing he meant no harm. She folded them back and said "Hi, My name is Twilight Zone. What is yours?" She looked around her blue eyes gleaming as her wings gently folded closely to her body. "Oh, and i just need a place to stay."
Hey guys, I realise I haven't exactly been active,, (as in not posting for a number of months)) and I have decided to quit RF for good. The only thing I want to clear up before I go is the fact that I have three horses who have been accepted in the new form, and need someone to roleplay them.
I have put a good hour or two's work into their bio's, and I would hate to see my work be killed after I leave. Since I won't be joining anymore solely horse RP's, I won't be using these bios again..
Anyway, here's a quick synopsis, and a link to each horses bio.
Kralovna Nebe- Mare, Grey, QH, about 6 yrs, is nurturing and caring, very motherly. x bio x
Wattle- Mare, 6 yrs, Gypsy, B&W tob. Sweet and playful, powerful temper. x bio x
Bojovnik- Stallion, 7y 6m, bay tuigpaard. Very kind and polite to any mare, but is very good at fighting and keeping his own in a battle.x bio x
I'll be checking back every few days to see who wants them, most likely I'll just give them to the first person who asks. Bye guys, and have a good 2010!

Shadow Demon
The black stag spotted a golden fae, and his ears pricked with interest. How strange... She had wings! Shadow shook his flowing mane, cantering softly over to the mare.
Drawing near, the stallion paused, nickering, showing that he did not mean any harm. More mares seemed to be coming to him this period of time...
Shadow drew himself up, dipping his head courteously. "Greetings, fair maiden... How can I help you?" The onyx stallion's tone was polite and refined, stance not showing any danger.
